ROA Case Shows New Ideas &Nbsp; Multipolar Urban Agglomeration Is A Solution To Future Human And Social Development.

World Expo

The development of cities, especially mega cities, is heading for the "big pie" strange circle -- expanding from the center of a circle, the farther away the traffic is, the more inconvenient the economy level is, and the traffic congestion, high housing prices, tidal passenger flow and even slums are a series of problems.

How to solve it?

In the best city practice area of World Expo, Shanghai, a new multipolar city group has provided us with a new way of thinking.

In the city of inventors, planners and architects called "our dream and design", we see that the city itself has become a solution.

  法国之梦

The designers of ROA district are planning to plan a 40 km wide and 60 km long area, including plains, mountains, forests and rivers, which can harness existing rivers or artificially excavate new rivers to create a hydrophilic ecological environment.

In a multipolar city group, a city is separated by large forest, ecotourism area or agricultural planting area, and develops independently according to its industrial characteristics. The product technology complements each other, and the inter city distance is no more than 100 km.

Residents share agricultural and forestry resources, and grain production is self-sufficient.

In all the urban centers, basic public facilities and complete commercial facilities are provided to ensure adequate employment opportunities. In the construction of universities along the best reaches and green spaces, trees become the "protagonist" of the environment, and the green space is 6 times more than the famous "green lung" and Central Park of Manhattan and other cities.

Shanghai exploration: as early as 2001, the Shanghai municipal government issued the "pilot opinions on promoting the development of cities and towns in Shanghai". It is clear that Shanghai will focus on the development of "one city, nine towns" during the "fifteen" period, namely, the 9 key towns, namely Songjiang NEW Town, Anting, Luo Dian and Zhujiajue.

  多极中心

Subversive is that the airport, one of the main culprits of modern pollution, will be placed in the center of the multipolar city group.

Because of the agricultural self-sufficiency of urban areas and the daily production of nearby commodities, coupled with efficient river pport and rail pport, most of the urban supplies originate from the multipolar urban agglomeration itself.

The number of logistics air traffic decreases, and more aircraft flights can serve tourists and businessmen.

Of course, there are very few households in the ten kilometres around the airport, and the open space is mainly used for farming or animal husbandry.

Not far from the airport, there will also be an ingenious building, a multi polar center, a recreational platform with a length of 1.5 kilometers, including museums, cinemas, concert halls, large gymnasiums, etc.

Starting from the multi polar center, residents can take the high speed public pport as they like, reach the neighboring cities, and then arrive at the destination by the two level network. The whole process takes only ten minutes.

High speed and low speed means of pportation are very necessary. The regional high-speed intercity train, which is as fast as 300 kilometers per hour, can complement the cable car or pmission belt which is slow to 8 kilometers per hour.

Shanghai exploration: with the opening of the T2 terminal of Hongqiao airport, the embryonic form of Hongqiao business district is beginning to take shape.

This year, the Hongqiao business district with a total land area of about 26.3 square kilometers will be built.

Among them, there is a core area of business function, about 1.4 square kilometers, including business, hotels, cultural and entertainment, exhibition and so on.

Hongqiao Airport West terminal, Hongqiao railway station, rail pit, bus and other means of pport, as well as the planning of high-speed rail, maglev, intercity trains will be gathered here.

  建筑特点

After many investigations, it is very important for residents to live comfortably and maintain moderate density in the urban area.

Most of the buildings in the multipolar city group are two to six stories of high-rise buildings. There are only single residential areas and several high-rise buildings, mainly for office buildings, hotels and urban visual coordinate reference points.

At the bottom of all buildings, shops are opened to provide services or cultural establishments to meet the needs of citizens. Building a walking corridor between buildings and moving around vigorously will be a lively urban landscape.

Shanghai exploration: at present, the "nine cities and one town" has been built around Shanghai, including the Songjiang new town with British style, Anting town with German style, Pujiang town with Italy flavor, Holland type modern town Gaoqiao Town, and Jiangnan Water Town Zhujiajue town.
