Precipitation

Between 75 and 170mm, the precipitation in the north and northwest of Lvliang is 1~2 less than that in the northwest, and less than 2 in the north central part. The precipitation in the central and southern part is more than 1~2. In July, the average temperature in most parts of the province is slightly higher than that in the whole year. Some areas are higher than 0.5, and the temperature in the southern part is slightly lower.

The precipitation in the southern part of July is not conducive to the occurrence and development of the three generation of Helicoverpa armigera.

Based on the above analysis and model calculation, it is estimated that cotton aphid will occur moderately in the main cotton producing areas in the southern part of the province in July, and the three generation of cotton bollworm will be lighter. The two generation of armyworm occurs in the middle part of the province.

It is suggested that under the correct guidance of plant protection departments, all localities should adopt integrated control techniques to effectively control crop fields that meet the standards of prevention and control.

In May 25th, the Shanxi Provincial Plant Protection Station issued crop diseases and insect pests prediction. Due to the high temperature and less rainfall, the cotton aphid occurred frequently in Yuncheng recently, and began to harm the early sowing cotton field. The area of the cotton aphid was 550 thousand mu, and the number of 100 aphids in serious cotton fields occurred in more than 800 parts in Yongji, Saline Lake and Linyi.

Plant protection experts say cotton aphid is an important pest in cotton seedling stage, and is widely distributed throughout the country. It is one of the main pests in cotton producing areas.

Aphid groups often suck juice on the back of leaves and tender tips, causing the cotton leaves to curl and plant atrophy. At the same time, aphids secrete honeydew, which leads to mold parasitism and affects cotton photosynthesis.
